Hey Improvisors!

This is a night to try out new and crazy performance pieces. If you’ve wanted to try a new game, a new performance group, a written sketch, or some other crazy form, let’s workshop them and then perform them for each other to get some feedback.

From 7 to 8, Workshop: Those with ideas to try along with those who are available to help will meet up and then break into groups that will quickly plan or rehearse their ideas.

From 8 to 9, Performance: We’ll put on a show for each other where we perform the pieces we’ve put together in the workshop. This will be raw, first time stuff and we’ll also be the audience for each other.

From 9 to 10, Feedback: We’ll give feedback on how each piece went and optionally give thoughts for improvement.

This is open to the improv community, but the show is intended for those who are there for the workshop part of the night (7 to 8) and not the general public.

The first night we tried this, the pieces were a new long form improv game, a 2 person improv team, a 4 person team doing an audio only piece, a group assembled poem, 2 different sketch pieces, and some puppet improv.

We’re open to just about anything! Already there are plans for a movie clip dubbing piece. And if you don’t have anything in mind, we can use folks who are willing to join in and help someone who has an idea for a set of players.
