April 2024 Shortform Show — Santa Barbara Improv

Here’s the lovely cast of our Shortform show on April 6th, 2024. Only 6 people in the cast, Mariangelica, Brent, Scott, Melissa, Harnoor, and David. I served as MC (although I sang in the Irish Drinking Song, provide relief to one player).

It was a small but appreciative audience, and so they were fortunate enough to see us perform Tag Out Story, ABC’s (timed), Changing Emotions, Counting Words, Pillars, Irish Drinking Song, Swedish Story, Party Quirks, Return Department, Montage, and a bunch of Open Scenes (well, specifically 6).

I’ve got to say that it was a great show! The audience laughed louder than a lot of the bigger audiences we’ve had. And for good reason, there were stories about Dr. Giggles the dentist, sex in a bar, astronaut paleontology, The Rock selling succulents, a non-French Joan of Arc, the zeitgeist, and so much more.

I noted one line, which is delightfully out of context: I don’t need to close. I’m a natural opener.
